My Dubrovnik — a 3D mobile city-management game
Led development from concept to first release with the Async Labs team, building the MVP in about ten months.
Context
My Dubrovnik is a 3D city-management game based on the real city of Dubrovnik. Representing that location convincingly on a phone, with complex management mechanics on top, was the defining constraint of the project.
Responsibility
I led development from the idea to the first release, with broad ownership of both engineering and the product decisions that shaped it.
Challenges
- Complex, interlocking management mechanics.
- The visual scope of a detailed real-city representation on mobile.
- Keeping performance acceptable on lower-end devices.
- A tight schedule from concept to release.
Contribution
- Built the MVP from scratch in roughly ten months.
- Implemented and owned economy, tasks, progression and tutorial systems.
- Delivered buildings, advertising and crowd and camera systems.
- Performed substantial optimization for mobile.
Outcome
An MVP built from scratch and shipped as a 3D mobile title within about ten months, delivered under a tight schedule with demanding gameplay requirements.

I worked embedded with the Async Labs team to develop My Dubrovnik, while being formally employed through a partner company. The role described here is technical leadership and hands-on development within that team.
